Two Thousand & Twelve Transitions

Really, I could have written "2012 Transitions" but it feels like the year 2012 has held two thousand and twelve transitions thus far! It's been packed with change and the Lord rearranging things; both in my personal life and the lives of my family members. Since my last blog post in December my brother got engaged & married, my sister and her husband packed up their home and moved internationally with their son, my Dad & his wife built a new house and moved into it, my mom got engaged (and will be married in August) and I temporarily moved into the house I grew up in.  2012 seems to be a year of change and of the Lord rearranging things. When I went down to Kansas City this past September, I had a conversation with someone who said that if you don't know where you're supposed to be in 2011 you're in the right place because 2012 will be a year filled with the Lord divinely transitioning people into new seasons and new places. How true!

Transitional seasons are such exciting, nerve-wracking seasons!  These seasons necessitate constant leaning into the Lord! I sat down in the prayer room in Kansas City this week (after helping Kristi, Shane and Noah move) just as Misty Edwards started singing this song:

When everything changes
Though life rearranges again
When everything's fading
You're the constant in my life
You're the Rock that is higher

I won't be moved (repeat)

I love the Lord He is my Rock
I love the Lord He is my Refuge
I love the Lord He is my strength
I love the Lord He is my firm foundation
I love the Lord He is my anchor

I sat in the prayer room and just cried as she sang. There has been so much (mostly REALLY GOOD) change this year and my heart needed the reminder that in the midst of the Lord changing and rearranging my life, and the lives of my family members, He is my Rock and He is the Constant One. He never changes, He is faithful and He is constant in the midst of the ever-changing circumstances of life. I am so thankful for the steadfast love and unchanging nature of Christ! If you're feeling the ache of change or the nervous-excitement of transition may your heart be reminded of the faithful nature of our Savior and His perfect leadership in your life!

Here are a few pics of my little bro's wedding to his beautiful bride!

  1. Wow, and I thought that I had a lot of transitions this year, crazy! I've got a sense that the Lord has some green pastures for you coming up though -- grace, grace, grace!
