PART I: THE VOICE OF THE LORD
God said, “Let there be light”
And it was so
The voice of the LORD is over the waters; the God of glory thunders
God said, “Let there be Heaven”
And it was so
The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty
God said, “Let there be land and sea”
And it was so
The voice of the LORD shatters the mightiest cedars
God said, “Let there be fruit and forests"
God said, “Let there be fruit and forests"
And it was so
The voice of the Lord flashes forth flames of fire
God said, “Let there be day and night, and signs for time”
And it was so
The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness
God said, “Let there be creatures of earth and sea, and every living thing”
And it was so
The voice of the Lord makes the oaks to shake and strips the forests bare
God said, “Let Us make man in Our image”
And it was good
And in His temple, all cry, “Glory!”
(The Creation Account from Genesis 1 and Psalm 29)
PART II: THE POEM
He
spoke, and it was so (Genesis 1)
He
dwells in eternity (Isaiah 57:15),
and light unapproachable (2
Timothy 6:16)
Never
‘fore has His face been seen (John
1:18; I John 4:12)
Never
once has a man survived the sight of the King
A
throne of mysteries since time unbound
A
voice like a trumpet (Revelation 1:10)
and an ocean of sound (Ezekiel
1:24; Revelation 1:15)
He
uttered once a story to unfold (Hebrews 1:1-2)
And
never since has a greater one been told (Song of Solomon 1:1)
From
the dust He formed us (Genesis 1:27)
out
of dirt He carved us
A
declaration of His tongue (Genesis 1:26)
a
revelation of His intents above (Proverbs 8:22-31)
A
holy dream too deep to comprehend (Ephesians 3:9-12; 5:32)
moved
His holy hands to condescend (Psalm 113:4-9; John 1:14)
To
touch the earth,
to touch the dirt
to touch the dirt
To
form our frames,
And give us birth (John 3:3; Romans 8:12-17; Galatians 4:1-7; I John 3:1)
And give us birth (John 3:3; Romans 8:12-17; Galatians 4:1-7; I John 3:1)
The
Origin without origin, this Word determined a creation (John
1:1-3; Hebrews 1:2)
The
sun, moon and stars are all still in their places (Jeremiah
31:35-37; 33:19-22)
Bound
since the beginning in covenantal love (Hebrews 13:20; Revelation 4:3),
His
Word can only destroy voids; never return as one (Isaiah
55:11)
Dividing
soul and spirit until the consummation (Hebrews 4:12),
This
hammer will smash facades and expose every secret
(Jeremiah 23:29; Romans 2:16; I Corinthians 4:5)
(Jeremiah 23:29; Romans 2:16; I Corinthians 4:5)
We
are all traitors, having blasphemed the Son
(Psalm 14:2-3; Romans 3:23; I Corinthians 6:11)
Who
at this very moment sustains the breath in our lungs
(Genesis
2:7; Job 34:14; Colossians 1:17)
Another
voice, another word (Genesis 3:1-5)
A
lie was told and deceit emerged (John 8:44)
Into
death then fell the bride (Genesis 3:6)
A
rebel removed from her bridegroom’s side
And
from the second Adam in time would come (Romans 5:12-21; Ephesians 1:10)
A
bleeding rib of water and holy flood (John
19:34; Hebrews 13:20; I John 5:8)
To
purge the stains of treachery and (Psalm 51:7)
exonerate
the guilt of harlotry (Hosea 1-3)
That
upon the crystal of a glassy sea (Revelation 4:6)
Man
would bear what angels cannot sing (Hebrews
2:16; I Peter 1:12; II Peter 2:4)
The
ransomed known, ordained and called (Rom. 8:28-30; Mark 10:45; Jn. 10:28-29; I Tim. 2:6)
Destined
to be justified and cleansed from the Fall
(Romans
3:26; Ephesians 1:4-10; Colossians 1:13-14, 22)
Upheld
by the word (Colossians 1:17; Hebrews 1:3)
which cried for light to pierce the
dark (Genesis 1:3)
And
did the same to shed abroad the glory of Christ within our hearts (II
Corinthians 4:6)
Something
like jasper, like the One upon the throne (Revelation
4:3; 21:11)
His
multitude will sing “Glory, glory, glory” to
the righteous One alone.
(Isaiah
24:14-16; I John 2:1; Revelation 7:9-10)
Until
He comes in glory and ends this present evil age
(Dan.
7:13-14; Mark 13:26; 14:62; Gal. 1:4)
The
question yet confronts us: will He even then find faith? (Luke 18:8)
If
prayer is only man simply talking to the walls,
Eat, drink, be merry, with nothing to worry about at all (Matt. 24:38; Luke 12:19).
Eat, drink, be merry, with nothing to worry about at all (Matt. 24:38; Luke 12:19).
Every
child of Adam is still now haunted by the whisper “Has
God really said?”
When
the integrity of God Word was first assaulted by the deceiver
(Revelation
12:9)
The
Father, Son and Spirit—a Trinity One
Will definitively finish what He has begun (Philippians 1:6)
(Poem by Stephanie Quick)
PART III: THE PRAISE
Alleluia (Revelation 19:6)
Worthy
are You, our Lord and God,
to
receive glory and honor and power
For
You created all things
and
by Your will they exist and were created (Revelation 4:11)
Alleluia
Salvation
and glory and power belong to our God
for
His judgements are true and just (Revelation 19:1-2)
Alleluia
For
the Lord our God the Almighty reigns
Let
us be glad and rejoice and give Him the glory
For
the marriage of the Lamb has come
and
His bride has made herself ready (Revelation 19:7)
