I went to McLaren Falls on Saturday and the Lord did something magnificent in my heart. I’m not sure what He did exactly but it kind of feels like a part of my heart is coming alive. I’m not sure if it’s just because I had the fantastic privilege of climbing waterfalls and seeing His incredible creation or if it was the thoughts and emotions that came flooding back as we drove through the park. I was reminded over and over again of the incredible memories I have with my siblings in St. Vital park. As we drove up the rolling hills we had to stop as a duck and her ducklings crossed the road. I won’t tell you that one of the guys got out of the car and caught a duckling in his hand much to the momma ducks dismay… oops, did I just write that? The poor little duckling lost its bowl control in Jeremie’s hand because it was so scared. We all felt really bad after that...
The incredible beauty of this park did something significant in my heart. I can’t explain it and I’m not sure what was all going on but it was good. I have actually been struggling because I am so unmoved by the incredible beauty of New Zealand. I live in one of the most beautiful places on earth and for the most part I take it for granted. I think I soaked in about 6 weeks of God’s beautiful creation in a matter of an hour. It’s like the beauty of New Zealand finally hit me. Thank you, God!
Here are a few pictures that do not do justice to how beautiful this place really is!
My friend Jeremie feeding the black swans. He's one of the students on the DTS.
My feet... Ken, this one is for you!
