PS. If I could transport other people to KC with me, I would take Shane & Kristi from Africa and Shaun from Winnipeg and bring them along :)
Here's a bit of a random update:
*Today I spent about 2.5 hours weeding my garden and the hedges in my backyard. It was actually really fun and really tiring and I have realized afresh how out of shape I am :) It was a beautiful day in NZ and just being outside and doing something with my hands was really good for my heart.
*I am really enjoying driving on the left hand side of the road! My amazing roomie left me her vehicle while she's been away for the holidays and it has been such a pleasure making my way around this city, driving a car again (it's been a while) and learning how to drive on the opposite side of the road. Renee was with me for the first few times and I'm feeling more and more confident each time I drive. I love having wheels. Thank you, my wonderful roomie!
*I am so thankful for the Bollen family - my flatmates family. They are so sweet and they really do feel like family away from family. Her parents are so generous, kind and welcoming and her brothers are down-right funny! I'm going to a BBQ at their house tomorrow to welcome in the New Year. Thank you Jesus for a family away from family! I got a text from Renee's mom yesterday saying that she missed me and that made my entire day! I was so blessed :)
*Frantic laughter. I have decided to start frantically laughing every time the internet in NZ stops working for me. The internet here has been the bane of my existence and one of the hardest parts of being away from family. I think I expected really easy, cheap internet access when I arrived in NZ and my hopes were greatly dashed. It's been hard to have good communication with family back home so every time the internet would cut out I'd get angry. However, I've decided to turn that anger into laughter. It honestly makes me feel SO MUCH better and I even get some weird looks in Starbucks :) I have loved having such frequent gmail chat conversations with my brother over the last few days! It's such a blessing!
*I've so enjoyed playing the piano that's in my living room. I sit down and play for long periods of time just because it's fun and worshiping the Lord is so freeing and refreshing. He's so worthy of unceasing adoration and praise!
I hope you are all doing well!
Blessings and love from the ends of the earth :)
